Galbatorix

This dreaded emperor of Alagaesia is the primary antagonist from The Inheritance Cycle series created by Christopher Paolini. Being a dragon rider once, the young human Galbatorix lost his faithful dragon Jarnunvösk during an attack with the monstrous Urgals. Being denied another Dragon by the Elder Council, Galbatorix began to plot the downfall of the Riders. Killing some Riders he then forced a black dragon named Shruikan to serve for him. Then gathering followers he began to slaughter the Riders and their dragons with his men and their corrupted dragons. He then defeated King Angrenost of Brodding Kingdom and then proclaimed himself the supreme ruler of Alagaesia with his main capital as Urubaen where his citadel is located. On accumulating the souls of dead dragons in the form of Eldunaris, his strength and magical power increased to immeasurable levels strong enough even to destroy a marching army all by himself. His inhuman bloodshed and terrifying presence sent even the Elves- the original Riders back to the forests and the Dwarves back to the mountains. He has not been shown in physical form in the first three books of the Series. However he has black eyes as mentioned in the first book. Also in the third book his presence is felt where he first tries to persuade the Elven Rider- Oromis and his dragon to join him in a charming manner. When Oromis refused he slaughtered Oromis by magic despite not being present in the battle field. Fans will eagerly await the final battle between Eragon the main protagonist of the series and the evil Galbatorix in the final book of the series yet to be released
